Waxing & Sugaring

Sugaring: The Gentle, Natural Alternative

Sugaring is an all-natural hair removal method made from lemon paste, water, and sugar, making it ideal for sensitive skin, all hair types, and those prone to irritation. Unlike waxing, sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed with the direction of hair growth using a flicking technique.
● Gentle on sensitive skin
● Helps prevent ingrown hairs
● Removes hair at the root for longer-lasting smoothness

Waxing: Effective & Exfoliating

I use soft wax because it provides great results, exfoliates the top layer of dead skin, and grabs the hair the first time around for a clean removal. Soft wax is ideal if you like the fast pull technique, where wax is applied and removed with an epilating strip.

● Removes hair in one pull for great results
● Exfoliates dead skin, leaving the area smooth
● Ideal for those who prefer a quick strip removal technique

Waxing or Sugaring – Which One is Right for You?

If your skin can handle both techniques, we can try both to see which you personally prefer. As long as your skin isn’t extremely sensitive, it comes down to personal preference, and you can choose the option that works best for you.

How to Prepare for Your Brazilian Wax or Sugar

To get the best results, it’s important to properly prepare for your appointment:
● Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). Do not trim
before your appointment.
Exfoliate the day before to help lift hairs for easier removal.
● Take a warm shower before your appointment to open up the pores.
Avoid working out right before your appointment. If needed, personal wipes are
available for freshening up.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

● The service is quick but thorough—you’ll be in and out before you know it.
● I’ll walk you through the process and adjust my technique based on your comfort level.
● If you need a break or have a preferred way to ease discomfort, just let me know—this is a safe space to communicate your needs.

What to Expect for Your First Brazilian Wax or Sugar

Your first Brazilian will be the most uncomfortable, or if you haven’t been consistent with waxing/sugaring. However, consistency is key.
● Regular waxing or sugaring every 4-6 weeks ensures better results and makes the
experience easier over time.
● Each visit will be less painful, and hair will grow back finer, softer, and more sparse.
● The process becomes smoother as hair follicles weaken, leading to longer-lasting
smoothness, less discomfort and less regrowth.

The results are so worth it, and sticking to a regular schedule is the best way to maintain the best results.

FAQ'S

Is Waxing or Sugaring Painful?

Let’s face it – waxing/sugaring isn’t always the most comfortable experience. However, pain tolerance differs for everyone. The good news? Any discomfort usually fades within seconds, and by the end of your appointment, you’ll likely find that any initial discomfort has dissipated, leaving you feeling satisfied and hair-free.

Your first Brazilian will be the most uncomfortable, especially if you haven’t been waxing or sugaring consistently. However, consistency is key—the more regularly you maintain your appointments, the easier and less painful it becomes. Discomfort is temporary and fades quickly. Many clients find sugaring to be gentler on the skin, while others prefer waxing’s fast pull technique. With regular appointments, the process becomes faster, smoother, and less painful as hair grows back thinner and sparser.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Results typically last between 2-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. With regular waxing or sugaring, hair grows back finer, softer, and sparser, making maintenance easier.

Can I Get Waxed/Sugared While on My Period?

Yes! You can still get a wax or sugar while on your period. You may be more sensitive, but as long as you're comfortable, it’s totally fine. Just wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup to your appointment.

Can I Get Waxed/Sugared While Pregnant?

Yes! Pregnant clients are welcome. I have worked with many pregnant clients and have
wedges for your comfort during the service.

Can I Get Waxed/Sugared if I’m on Accutane or Retinol?

You CANNOT get waxed or sugared while on Accutane. You must be OFF Accutane for at
least 6 months
before receiving any waxing or sugaring service. Waxing while on Accutane can cause severe skin lifting and damage.

For Retinol or other acne medications, discontinue use at least 5-7 days before waxing to avoid skin sensitivity.

Who Should Avoid Waxing/Sugaring?

Waxing and sugaring may not be suitable if you:

● Are currently on Accutane or have been within the last 6 months
● Are taking oral acne medications or certain antibiotics
● Have lupus, AIDS, or are undergoing cancer therapy

If you are unsure whether waxing or sugaring is safe for you, please reach out before booking.

Why Choose Waxing or Sugaring Over Shaving?

● Longer-lasting results (2-6 weeks of smooth skin)
● No more razor burn, bumps, or cuts
● Helps reduce ingrown hairs
● Hair grows back thinner, softer, and sparser over time

Post-Waxing & Sugaring Aftercare

After your wax or sugar, proper aftercare is essential to ensure smooth skin and avoid
irritation
. Following these guidelines will help prevent breakouts, ingrown hairs, and sensitivity:

Keep the area clean, especially for the first 24-48 hours to reduce the risk of irritation
or breakouts.
● Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and hot showers for 48 hours, as excessive heat can cause
sensitivity and irritation.
No working out or sweating for 24 hours to prevent bacteria from clogging the hair
follicles.
Wear loose clothing after your appointment to avoid friction and irritation.
Moisturize, but make sure you use a non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) aftercare
product
that is safe for freshly waxed skin.
WAIT 48 HOURS BEFORE EXFOLIATING. After 48 hours, exfoliate 2-3 times a week
to prevent ingrown hairs and promote healthy hair regrowth.
Moisturize regularly to keep skin hydrated and prevent dryness between appointments.
Following these steps will ensure the best possible results and keep your skin smooth and healthy after your wax or sugar.
